At the end of February 2011, Joe Volk is retiring from his position of Executive Secretary of the Friends Committee on National Legislation. Joe began his service April 1, 1990 as our third leader since 1943. Our next Executive Secretary, Diane Randall, begins work on March 1. And on his own spiritual journey, and thoughts for the future.
I suppose there are many reason why someone would decide to ride a thousand miles but here are mine. I have been involved with Envirolution. In Manchester, which aims to present inspiring solutions to environmental and social challanges. I am also doing the ride in memory of a close friend who I was inspired by to get on my bike and see where I could get too.
