Amateur Radio, SotA, Camping. The VK6 SoTA programme has started and thanks goes out to everyone who made it possible. Anxious to get started, I thought a trip up to Mt Dale on my day off would be a great beginning. I have been here a few times before, once camping and a few other times chasing thunderstorms. After an initial flurry of contacts on 40m I tried 15m.
Well this is my first attempt at blogging, following in the footsteps of many other Amateur Radio operators. I am not sure how often I will post here, but I hope that some of what I post will be of interest to others, and may help some to get into this fantastic hobby of Amateur Radio.

The site had the following in the homepage, "Amateur Radio -QRP, Portable, S." I noticed that the web site stated " HOW TO SET UP A PORTABLE STATION." They also stated " For some strange reason quite a few experienced amateurs seem to be hesitant about setting up a portable station. Paul, VK5PAS has suggested that he believes that many are not sure how to go about it. I recorded this video of Greg, VK5ZGY demonstrating his set up in the back yard a few months back but I have only now got around to finishing it off. I have set up this site so I can relate my experiences with my Amateur Radio Hobby. There is a little about how and when I became enthused with radio. There are blogs about various activations.
