High summer, or at least for a day, has brought out the butterflies, commas, painted ladies,red admirals and tortoiseshells, all enjoying the flowers in the sun. The lilies are flowering,in pots and the border. They look and smell very exotic, but actually survive in pots for years. I have layered them under tulips, which seems to work well. A high wind in the meadow.

Insignificant people with our daily words and acts. Long, long school term finally staggering to a close. And endless puerile banter between PE staff, so do not feel entirely out of place.
