Friday, April 24, 2015. I finished my Simplicity 1538 blouse this week, just in time for the Spring for Cotton finale! 1948 Simplicity Blouse pattern and polka dot fabric. It all started with the yellow polka dot fabric, and the 1948 pattern that I have made twice before. Both of those are blogged on here. My view 3 can be seen here. This year I managed to get some good summer knitting done. It started with the butterscotch lacy cardigan. I guess this clearly means I need more of the same for next year.

My costume is all done and looking forward to seeing the new year in tonight! The basque binding went back on easily and the shape reflects the skirt waist line much better. I added a sequin trim by cutting a strip from another great charity shop find! Very festive I thought! Though cutting it up makes a bit of a mess! Next I tackled cutting the dress into a skirt , I put the dress on and drew round round my waist with tailors chalk pencil.
