Thursday, July 9, 2009. This koi, a domesticated variety of the common carp. This Chinese Goose was photographed downstream from the Rex Avenue Bridge. Bred from the Swan Goose. It is of Chinese origins and can easily be identified by the strong basal knob on the upper side of the bill. A less benign residents of the park is a copse of Trees of Heaven. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.

Ballet classes range from pre-ballet through pre-professional and adult; in addition, classes are offered in jazz, tap, hip hop, modern and yoga.

Tuesday, December 23, 2008. May the coming year be filled with peace and hope for all of us. Wissahickon Diary will resume in mid January. Sunday, November 30, 2008. The decision to make the trip had been rash, considering that the attacks of September 11 and the attendant fears of travel abroad that followed, still hung over everything. Looking back of course, no regrets.
