I began YDHS as a blog for my senior project in high school. Every senior had to do a service project on a topic that affected their community. Since I was a teen mother, and knew numerous teen mothers in my community I decided to make my project about teen pregnancy. I created a blogPARSED CONTENT
The site had the following in the homepage, "You Dont Have to be a Statistic." I noticed that the web site stated " Making teenagers believe they can make the best decisions for themselves each day." They also stated " I tried to keep the blog alive, but coming down to the line with graduation, beginning my first job, going to college, etc. I had to shut the blog down. That didnt stop me though. Now I am beginning to branch out and speak with other teenagers, at different events, etc. This is what Ive wanted YDHS to be since the beginning, and now it is becoming reality.
