Tuesday, February 16, 2010. If you deny the oppression of a marginalized community, are you colluding with the systems of oppression that keep that community marginalized? While there was a great outpouring of community support for both the synagogue and LGBTQ Services, I think this speaks more to the great sense of solidarity and community in Burlington rather than actually embracing the Jewish culture. After the Westboro Baptist Church left town, so left the visibility of the Burlington Jewish comm.
