I finally got the frame welded together. I used arc, mig and tig welding. I found it very difficult to mark out the round bar and to get it square. I sometimes wished i had chosen the box. However I am happy now that i didnt as i think the round looks very well. i will take these new found skills with me into my future Teaching jobs.

We made it to the Semi-Finals of the Robot Wars, then we were knocked out due to the robot spinning out of control. It is unknown why the robot behaved in this manner, it functioned correctly on a number of occasions throughout the morning. The gap between the board and the carpet caught our bot at the end of the fight. it was balancing on the base with the tracks spinning because the base was only 2mm off the ground.
