Coming into this class I was already pretty dang used to writing. I took IB English courses in high school, and was on the school newspaper. I had become the master of writing pieces in no time at all, and getting pretty decent grades on those pieces. Coming into Writing 110, I felt like the class would probably be a complete waste of my time, but I was wrong.

In high school, I was a perfectionist. My essays, and really any writing assignment, would take me hours and hours to complete because I had to make sure they were perfect before turning them in. Saving the Lives of Moms. Why is homosexuality such a heated topic? Why is it that when I saw someone writing about same-sex marriage, it automatically made me cringe? The thought of writing my own post about it made me squirmy and uncomfortable.

The start of college adventures and new homes. We only have seven more of these. I think I was able to find my humor point through this writing class. In the last essay, the argumentative, I used it as a tool to warm people with opposing views to my experiences. Overall, I loved this class. It was one of my favorit.

This past semester in this writing course has been a great learning experience that I wish I could have taken advantage of during my freshman year. However, I am grateful for the opportunity to build my writing skill as I have improved in areas that I always thought were a lost cause.
