Kerala the southern most state of India took birth on 1st November 1956, long after Indian Independence on 15th August 1947. Beforehand it was three Independence provinces named Malabar, Cochin and Travancore. Kerala originally got its name after the first ruler, Keralian, who ruled one of these Independent provinces in the early Centuries.

Karimeen is the official state fish of Kerala. It is very tasty and delicious, especially the karimeen fry, karimeen pollichathu are the popular and top demanding dishes in restaurants. This is a Kerala recipe of fish curry with coconut milk and raw mangoes. This curry can be served with rice, appam, bread and roti. Almost every part of the banana tree is useful in one or other way.
