I truly feel that blogs can be very beneficial if they are used appropriately. However, what constitutes as appropriate varies widely from grade level to grade level. I am not sure when it is developmentally appropriate to introduce blogs to students but I do feel that if introduced too early, the blog could become more of a deterrence than a learning tool.

I thought that this article made a very good point, in that a lot of teachers probably select one books for all of their students to read when that is not usually the best option. There is such a varying degree of reading levels among students in a given class.
