Transition is not a set protocol, dictated by faraway experts. It is far too intimate and important for that. You are welcomed to this feast as an honored guest. Your cup is filled and the table is set. And then stand among ashes in.

It was surprising, the first time I forgot about my transition. I was out, it was sunny, and I was unaware that I had been a man, or had considered myself one. I forgot about that and was just myself, focused on whatever I was doing.

Thoughts on being transgender and the transition process. The job market is hard enough to maneuver without being trans. Trans people are twice as likely to be unemployed compared to the rest of the population. 1 in 5 has been homeless at some point in their life. Do I disclose being trans in my resume? Or do I try to get through the interview without them figuring it out by some miracle and wait for HR to discover it? .
