I really like the way the unit starts out. Pirate music playing in the background and pirate objects all around the room. The children would be hooked. I also think that the Pirate Notebook is a wonderful idea. By having a place to keep all Pirate Materials, students are more likely to keep up with stuff. I am not a person who likes poetry at all. But after reading these books that was assigned I can say that I do like SOME poetry now.
