Learning one stitch at a time. Today I put up my work for the formative assessment and end of year exhibition. I really liked being able to show my work at the end of the year. It also feels like preparation for next year! Here is my space, I have added three new designs to my collection which I actually prefer a lot more to my older designs.
I have been instructed to create a blog of my time studying textiles at Cardiff Met University. I am best described as your typical student who is obsessed with her bright colours and crazy patterns. PDP How did subject and field inform one another? May 27, 2015. Both field projects as well as subject have reinforced my thoughts of becoming a teache.
These are my final designs that I have chosen to exhibit. I am pleased with these designs as I feel that they give an overview for the rest of my work. I have also been able to fit the new designs into the families that I had before.
An exploration into the grotesque, using nature as medium. These pieces take photographs and manipulate them with stitch. I am interested in using stitch and this would be a better way of using freehand sewing in my work. If I want to manipulate imagery it will be a good way to get back into photography, probably film. Thus, my work seek.
