I recently returned from a one-semester sabbatical leave and am piloting a blogging journal with my advanced eighth grade reading class. There are 21 students in the class and they quickly caught on to the paperless journaling system I created on kidblog. The students respond to my posts about the novel we are reading,. Another important concept I focused on was that teachers need to WANT to learn technology. I found this idea so important. If there are teachers in the classroom that have been teaching for thirty years, it would be difficult to transfer over to the use of technology.
