So in this last blog I am going to review the topics that have been the most interesting to me and which I feel are some of the most important aspects of education that need to be addressed in order to improve achievement and learning in schools. Well, the semester is over. I have finished marking your blogs, and I have been impressed. A couple of suggestions for next year have emerged, and I want to talk about them. The first would have me giving several lectures scattered throughout the semester.
So what do we know? April 8, 2011. At first I did not feel as though I would learn anything, but looking back over my blogs and everyone elses I can see certain things which could help children in schools. Introducing children to a healthy breakfast either at home or in a breakfast club will help with concentration. I also think that children who are more able would learn better in sets, where as those of a l.
So in this blog we have to sum up what we have learnt in this module. I have heard many talks touching on a range of educational issues. Some were things that I was already aware about others that I had never considered before. One small step for an NQT, one giant leap for teaching.
The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be ignited Plutarch. As well as giving me an incredible amount of information that I will remember for a long time, this module has also helped me develop skills such as critical thinking, how to form arguments and how to build on my ideas.

Being trapped in History! April 5, 2011. Sir Ken Robinson gave a very interesting talk on education and changing the paradigms. I thought this was very interesting when it comes to learning, whether music really has this kind of effect. I did a bit of more research on music and mind, memory and academic performance. What do you think? .
I think I have benefited greatly from the module; I seem to have built up my confidence on talking and giving my opinion on topics and in discussions, furthermore my presentation skills have improved. But on reflection I have benefited from what I was most apprehensive about, the fact that my classmates would be reading my blogs motivated me to present good and well researched blogs, which developed my learning, my art.
I am heading out with a team of people to Ghana to help out with starting a school and teacher training. Although resources are scarce in the area i would love it if people had a few summary ideas i can take to the teachers of this area.
