I had never heard of Open Middle problems until we were challenged by our Math Rocks team to try it in our classrooms. It is actually a resource that many teachers may use, but perhaps they are not familiar with the term. Make 3 different rectangles that each have a perimeter of 48in.

Math Rocks 3 Goals, goals, goals. August 6, 2015. August 6, 2015. My goals for this year teaching math is to successfully implement all that I have learned as a 5th grade teacher. My campus uses the Share and Compare framework and I see my kids grow immensely from it. I have grown SO much as a teacher over the last 6 years at Sommer Elementary and want to see how I can incorporate all my new knowledge into this new grade level.
