Blogging about Janathon and Juneathon running challenges. Into the last week of Janathon and therefore the last Sunday. I managed two activities, firstly a swim which is my Sunday regular, and followed by a dog walk in a muddy wood. Nothing noteworthy happened in either except for the vast amount of mud in the wood.

I may have run my first parkrun in 2011 but I have come late to the delights of parkrun tourism, and parkrun generally. Must be getting old, or hooked. At the run briefing, just before they explained the course, they mentioned they were missing a tail runner and was anyone willing.

On July 14, 2013. So today was probably one of the warmest days of the year and also the date of the British 10k in London. By 9k, my legs were starting to feel a tad heavy, but I was able to pick things up and come in a respectable time of 1 hour and 54 seconds.

Musings on running and so much more. I finished last year with an detached run distance of just over 6 miles which, combined with only 3 runs being over 7 miles and no runs after April of under 6 miles means, yep, I just about ran a while year of 6 mile jogs.

Last weekend was spent in New York, celebrating a big birthday, and the order of the weekend was food, fizz, and friends- and definitely not running. However, in order to keep myself in check just a little, I signed up for the Ladies First half marathon. Which took place in Shore Road Park. In Brooklyn, just a few miles as the crow flies from our Air BNB in downtown Manhattan. The race was slickly organised by NYCRuns.

After this, I rested up and did lots of stretching, and after about a fortnight was starting to feel more mobile.
