Posted by darrancarr in Uncategorized. Tuesday to friday Work Experience! I spent this week in Queenstown on work experience for Queenstown Lakes District Council at the beutiful Queenstown Gardens. Spent Tuesday clearing up after large gale force winds the night before took down a few trees and left a lot of debris all over the QT Gardens. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday was spent with Val the head gardener and his assistant Joe.

The site had the following in the homepage, "Term two, week six." I noticed that the web site stated " On Monday we couldnt get through to school as its snowed." They also stated " Tuesday, just managed to make it through the snowy drive to reach a day filled with learning about nutrients in soil. The major macronutrients are nitrogen N. Calcium Ca, magnesium Mg, and sulfur S are also macronutrients. I took it all in but alot went over my head, im sure Ill get a better understanding for soil nutrients in further classes. A wet start to the day today, we met up with Trevor and fixed a few things in the shed, then after a lovely cheesecake morning tea for Nick I managed to jump back in the tractor and practiced driving up and down the vineyard rows with the air sprayer on the back. Trev cooked up a BBQ lunch which was nice, then had an early finish.

Today Jo took all the new students for a field trip. we old students had already went to that places where Jo took them today.
