Dewi Ratih, is a 35 m double ended sailing Schooner, inspired from Asian and pacific boats from the past, such as Chinese Junk, Vietnamese Cochincine and Indonesian Phinisis. However she can also be build in a different context and other material such as steel or aluminum. She is design to be handle by a limited crew, assist with the latest deck and rigging equipment.
Tarian Ombak belong to a series of double ended design study. She is inspired from the boats of Madura island in Indonesia, but should not be regard as a replica or a typical Madura boat. Most Madura boat use an unusual lateen rig configuration, that look very similar to the Papillon sail design. Indonesia benefit from one of the richest maritime culture on earth, with a population of sailor know as Bugis who are consider as the gipsy of the sea. Indonesian boatbuilding and art of sailing is my major source of inspiration, and this is what bring me in this fascinating country. This experience, allowed me to explore few boatbuilding activities in remote area.
Clic clac is a fun little dinghy, which can be rig with many standard cat sail set on dinghy of similar size. The Papillion can also be compared to a Lateen sail and has elements from the Bermuda rig,. It will allow you to explore a multitude of configurations.
