I spent one hour and fifty minutes each day in the language arts class with my students. While I was there the students were finishing up a novel study. I found it particularly interesting that half of the class was reading.

1 What are the three dimensions of fluency? How can you assess each dimension? 2 Rasinski refers to fluency as a bridge between decoding and comprehension. What does he mean by the bridge metaphor? The metaphor of fluency being a bridge between decoding and comprehension shows that these two skills are related to each other. One is necessary to understand the other because if you cannot decode than you with not comprehend and vice versa.
