I believe shared reading is a vital part of reading education for many reasons. The different shared reading experiences have so many positive impacts on student learning. One of the main reasons I believe in using shared reading is that it helps students who are struggling to read with others and feel more at ease and comfortable reading publically. What If You Met a Pirate? Swashbuckling Adventures on the High Seas. What a humorous book! I was not sure what to expect when I started reading. By Sharon Creech, but it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise! Ordinary Objects that Mean something Special. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. During our class meetings and readings for the Psychological Bases of Reading course, we have discussed and broken down the processes of reading. The brain is stimulated in many ways during reading and by reading that we never are even conscious of. The process of reading manipulates many unconscious variables to simply read a passage. The following is a summary of those findings that were studied this semester. Our discussion then turned to cor.
Focuses on language experiences of the child. The child dictates a story and they are taught to read the words from their story. Instruction is learning individual words usually emphasizes memorizing whole words with some phonics drills added in later.
