The Hydra looks a lot like a squid as it has a long tube like body with tentacles at the end of its body. The form of those tentacles is long and thin. They are probably used to catch prey and to help it figure out where it is. It also helps them move around. Its tentacles play a huge part in a hydras life and they would have a hard time surviving without them.
