I have always been someone to highlight quotes I liked or interesting facts so I know that to have students write down these things in their Pirate diary and their thoughts on it would be helpful when discussing it because it will be easier to reference the books. I also really liked that the twin-text unit of study used both books from the non-fiction and fiction categories. I think it is imporant for students to have the opportunity to what truth remains in fiction and always be questioning what they are learning.
